We Have Resumed Normal Business Hours

Our patients, team members, and their families are the center of all we do as a company. Mountain State Oral & Facial Surgery is closely monitoring guidelines from the CDC and are dedicated to keeping people safe and healthy.

We are resuming normal business hours and operations including all elective and non-elective treatments. As we re-open we want our patients to know they will see some changes in our offices including but not limited to social distancing measures, increased sanitization, increased use of PPE, and other changes. These changes are to protect our staff and patients as we are committed to serving the needs of our community during these difficult times.

We will continue to monitor this situation closely and update our response as more information is made available from the CDC. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this difficult time.

Stay safe and healthy, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Cheek Implants

Cheek implants can restore balance to the face, enhance a flattened profile, and can be beneficial to patients who have lost facial volume due to birth defects or facial trauma.

What are cheek implants?

As we age, we tend to lose facial definition and volume. This can lead to a flattened appearance to the face and profile. Cheek augmentation can restore a youthful look to the face with the use of implants. It can benefit patients who have lost facial volume, have a congenital defect, or experienced facial trauma.

Patients may choose cheek implants for many reasons:

  • Restore balance to the face due to congenital anomalies, facial trauma, or natural aging
  • Enhance flattened profile
  • Correct gaunt appearance in midface region

When you come to Mountain State Oral & Facial Surgery, you will meet with one of our experienced oral surgeons, who will discuss and evaluate your condition and create a treatment plan designed to optimize your unique facial structure. The type of implant used, where the implant is placed, the location of the incision, the anesthesia selection, and more will be discussed with you during your consultation appointment.

Cheek Implant Procedure

Your surgical procedure will begin with the selected form of anesthesia.  It starts with a small incision either in the mouth or the bottom eyelid for the implant to pass through. A pocket is then created where the new cheek implant will be placed. Your oral surgeon can then pass the implant through the incision and into the pocket to secure it in place. This technique allows for minimal scarring with optimal results.

A typical cheek implant procedure can take up to two hours to complete but may be longer or shorter depending on your specific treatment plan. Some swelling and bruising is to be expected following your cheek implant procedure. Your oral surgeon may prescribe medication to help manage post-operative discomfort. Please follow all pre- and post-operative guidelines to allow for optimal healing and a smooth recovery period.
