Intense Pulsed Light, or IPL, is designed to treat and improve the appearance of certain skin conditions, such as vascular lesions, acne, freckles, and hair removal.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is a treatment designed to treat and improve the appearance of certain skin conditions. It is also a common treatment for unwanted hair removal.

IPL is commonly used for:

IPL works by using light energy to target the color pigments in the hair and skin. IPL is an outpatient procedure that produces optimal results using a non-invasive treatment. Downtime is considered minimal, and the patient can usually return to their work or activities immediately following treatment.

Am I A Good Candidate for IPL?

IPL works best on patients with dark hair and fair skin. White hairs cannot be treated because the IPL only targets the color pigments. Patients who have darker skin may be treated but will need to be thoroughly examined before the treatment begins, and we will need to proceed with caution.

Your skin type and condition, extent of procedure, and aesthetic goals will determine the results of IPL treatment. Redness and swelling are common side effects and are usually short term.
