Rhinoplasty is one of the most common cosmetic procedures. It corrects the size and shape of the nose, as well as help those who experience breathing difficulties. The upper portion of the structure of the nose is bone, and the lower portion is cartilage. A rhinoplasty procedure can change bone, cartilage, skin or all three.
What a rhinoplasty can do
Many people choose rhinoplasty to address one or more of the following conditions:
- Facial imbalance
- Nasal asymmetry
- Disproportionate nostril size
- A bulbous, drooping, or upturned nasal tip
- Bumps or depressions along the nasal profile
- Breathing difficulties
- Nasal trauma
- Nasal deformities
- Deviated septum (the bone and cartilage that divide the nasal cavity are off-center or crooked. Deviated septums are normally caused by nose injuries.)
We customize your rhinoplasty procedure to your individual needs, facial structure, and aesthetic goals. Typically, a rhinoplasty procedure involves a reduction of the size and shape of the nose.
Our highly certified staff will administer IV sedation or general anesthesia. Your doctor will then make incisions inside the nose as needed. Next, specialized tools rearrange the bone and cartilage to achieve the desired aesthetic. Then we place skin carefully over the new shape.
Bruising and swelling after surgery is normal. If you experience any symptoms or pain beyond what is expected, please do not hesitate to call our office.
