What is the Academic Advantage program at Mountain State Oral & Facial Surgery?
On Saturday, March 10, Mountain State Oral & Facial Surgery is hosting its first Academic Advantage event. This program is designed to provide young students with a chance to get a head start on their future in the medical field. With the healthcare sector constantly growing, the Academic Advantage program is a fantastic opportunity for students to get their foot in the door, whether they’re interested in becoming a nurse, a doctor, and oral surgeon, support staff, or any other profession.
This event will bring together experts in medicine, educational counseling, and college admissions to educate students about applying for college and staying on the right track for success in the healthcare field. Speakers from medicine, dentistry, and academia will help students understand the requirements they need to complete and provide valuable insight into how to succeed as a medical professional.
The Academic Advantage program is aimed at children in grades 6–12. If your middle school or high school student is interested in pursuing a healthcare profession, this program is an ideal opportunity for you both to get useful information. We encourage you to RSVP for our upcoming session to get a head start on your child’s future.
What will students learn from the program?
Our program will bring together professionals in both medicine and academics, giving your students access to knowledge about both career and education success. As accomplished professionals in their field, they can provide insight to you and your student on the following:
- Why a healthcare profession is rewarding
- A day in the life of a dental/medical professional
- Education and training requirements
- The college admissions process
- Tips for making a college application stand out
- How to start the process
Be entered for a chance to win one of the Academic Advantage Scholarship!
To further encourage students in our community to pursue their educational goals, Mountain State Oral & Facial Surgery will be awarding one $1000 scholarship and two $500 scholarships at the Academic Advantage event.
