We Have Resumed Normal Business Hours

Our patients, team members, and their families are the center of all we do as a company. Mountain State Oral & Facial Surgery is closely monitoring guidelines from the CDC and are dedicated to keeping people safe and healthy.

We are resuming normal business hours and operations including all elective and non-elective treatments. As we re-open we want our patients to know they will see some changes in our offices including but not limited to social distancing measures, increased sanitization, increased use of PPE, and other changes. These changes are to protect our staff and patients as we are committed to serving the needs of our community during these difficult times.

We will continue to monitor this situation closely and update our response as more information is made available from the CDC. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding during this difficult time.

Stay safe and healthy, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Martin Salgueiro, DDS

The most rewarding thing about being an oral and maxillofacial surgeon is that I get to help people every day.

Meet Dr. Salgueiro

Dr. Salgueiro was inspired to pursue a dental healthcare career by his grandfather, who was an orthodontist and his great grandfather, who also worked in the field. After completing his dental degree in Venezuela, Dr. Salgueiro practiced dentistry for several years. He realized his passion for oral surgery after he moved to the United States to complete several internships at Loyola University in Chicago, the University of Miami in Florida, and Vanderbilt University in Tennessee. Following his internships, he decided to complete an oral and maxillofacial residency at the Medical College of Georgia.

Once he’d completed his residency, Dr. Salgueiro remained in Georgia as a staff member at the Medical College. While he was a faculty member there, one of our doctors was his resident, and they stayed in touch over the years. Dr. Salgueiro was happy to join our team when a position opened up at our practice. His primary focus is simply treating his patients with the best care, thereby doing his job as well as possible. He makes sure to explain to patients all the details of their treatment so they can understand what will be done and feel completely comfortable.Loyola University in Chicago

Education and residency

Dr. Salgueiro had every intention of practicing dentistry after he completed dental school. However, when he moved to the United States for several internships, he decided that he wanted to continue his training to become an oral surgeon. During his residency at the Medical College of Georgia, he worked alongside surgeons and anesthesiologists to learn the full scope of oral surgery and the safe administration of all forms of anesthesia. Once he finished his training, he decided to stay on as a faculty member to help residents learn the skills and knowledge that he received during his residency. He served as director of pre-doctoral oral surgery training and director of the oral surgery outpatient clinic.

Dr. Salgueiro is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. As a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Salgueiro had to complete an intensive written exam and four rigorous oral exams. Each examination tested the extent of his knowledge of the oral and maxillofacial specialty, including his judgment in various surgical situations. Having passed each test, Dr. Salgueiro has achieved the highest standards for an oral surgeon. To maintain his board-certified status, he must continue his education, stay up to date on the latest technology and surgical techniques, and continue to demonstrate the highest standard of care.

Outside of work, Dr. Salgueiro’s interests vary. He likes to spend a majority of his time with his wife and two children. However, he also enjoys traveling, especially to visit other relatives. In addition, he likes to ski when the weather permits it.
