Meet Peter Dorf, DMD Dr. Peter Dorf is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with advanced training and experience in both military and academic medical environments. His background includes comprehensive surgical training, leadership experience, international study, research, and service as a staff oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Dr. Dorf provides a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgical care, including tooth extractions, dental implant placement, bone grafting, facial trauma treatment, oral pathology, and corrective jaw surgery. He is committed to delivering thoughtful, individualized care while helping patients feel informed and comfortable throughout treatment. Education And ResidencyDr. Dorf earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Biology, from the State University of New York at Geneseo, graduating cum laude. He then attended the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree and graduated summa cum laude. Following dental school, Dr. Dorf served as a general dentist at Fort Belvoir Dental Clinic. He later completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. During his residency, he served as chief resident of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. Military And Professional ExperienceDr. Dorf has served as a staff oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. In this role, he has provided surgical care while also helping educate and train other clinicians. His military medical experience has prepared him to evaluate and manage a broad range of oral and facial conditions, including complex surgical cases and facial injuries.
